FAQs

We have a variety of experienced and highly trained instructors across a wide range of martial arts. You will train under various instructors who have different specialisms.
We train in a safe and controlled way. All classes begin with a thorough warm up and full body stretch designed in accordance with the experts at Liverpool Hope University Sports Science program. Whilst the classes do involve contact there is very little chance of any of our students getting hurt and the lessons are very safe. All of our instructors are first aid trained
For your first couple of lessons you only need to wear suitable gym clothing i.e. shorts, leggings, track suit bottoms and a tshirt or vest. Bring a bottle of water and some people like to bring a towel. Children under 16 need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Please see the separate Memberships section above for full details.
There are no additional extras other than the option of gradings, which are not compulsory, and the uniform which costs £25 including your first belt, tshirt and trousers.
Please click on the Free Trial link in the top right hand corner of this page or give us a call on 0151 601 5455. We’ll answer any questions you might have and invite you along for a free lesson to meet the instructors, staff, other members and to try out a free class.
No prior experience is needed. Our instructors are experienced at teaching at all levels. Most of our new students start with no prior martial arts experience. Those with more experience are also welcome. Our members have a wide variety of experience, across a range of ages, so there is always a suitable class for everyone.
Once you are a member we ask that all students wear the official club bottoms and Tshirt which can be bought for £25. We provide all of the other equipment although some people prefer to purchase their own boxing gloves and headguard.
Please see our timetable above for full details

We carefully monitor membership numbers and class sizes to make sure there is ample space and everyone gets adequate tuition.

There is no minimum requirement as we understand life is busy. We do however encourage people to come twice a week, if not more, to progress at a quick rate.
