Kung Fu Liverpool: Kung Fu is a Chinese martial art that has developed over many centuries and has many forms, but at its heart it is always based on speed. The origins of Chinese martial arts has been attributed to the need for self defence, hunting techniques and military training in ancient China.
It’s origins can be traced back centuries but it was brought to the attention of the wider world by the legendary Bruce Lee who is considered by commentators, critics, media, and other martial artists to be the most influential martial artist of all time.
Kung Fu was originally developed as a self defence technique and also formed part of military training. It focuses on stances, techniques and body mechanics to be able to overcome an attacker.
Part of Kung Fu’s teaching relate to the concept of qi which means inner energy and this is relevant to our teachings in terms of developing control and discipline as well as good mental health.
Due to its evolution from a self defence system a lot of Kung Fu is relevant to the syllabus that we use today at MMA Defence. As with all the other martial arts that we discuss, we have incorporated the best bits of Kung Fu into our syllabus to create a highly effective self defence system.
The training we offer means that you will not only have an excellent workout, comparable to a gym session or a HiiT class, you will also be learning valuable techniques that could help to keep you safe.
